Description
The pheromone trap is a monitoring measure for infestation control and cannot prevent an infestation with larvae, at most reduce it. If a pest is present, the boxwood must be monitored for larvae. A female moth lives about 9-12 days and lays about 20 eggs. After 3 days, the larvae hatch. They go through 7 developmental stages and continue to grow in size. The growth phase is strongly dependent on temperature and weather conditions and can last between 3 and 10 weeks. Subsequently, a new generation of moths hatches. To kill the larvae and prevent further spread of the moth, spraying with an insecticide is recommended.
