Info: Annual medicinal and culinary herb with a cucumber-like taste. Decorative flowering plant for the natural garden, 40 - 60 cm tall, bee pasture. Harvest young leaves and flowers fresh and finely chopped to cucumbers, quark, potatoes, and salad dressings ("Frankfurt Green Sauce"). Calming and diuretic as a tea. The edible flowers are used for decoration.
Care: Sow 2 cm deep in rows 25 - 30 cm apart, press down, cover with soil (dark germinator) and keep moist. If necessary, thin out to 25x30 cm spacing. Loves warm, sunny to partially shaded locations on all permeable, slightly moist, rather loamy soils.
Tip: Sow densely and thin out, as transplanting is poorly tolerated due to the long roots.
Sowing: March - July in the open field
Germination: 10 - 15 days at 15 - 20°C, dark germinator
Harvest: May - October
