Info: Hardy, perennial leek or scallion-type onion with tubular, green foliage and only slight bulb formation in the soil. Used like chives for seasoning soups, salads, and raw dishes. Provides fresh scallions in early spring.
Care: Sow 1 cm deep in rows 30 cm apart. Press lightly, cover with soil and keep moist. Thin out strong plants to 5 cm. Prefers sunny, moderately moist locations on humus-rich, well-drained, easily warmable soils that dry well. Water during extended dry periods. Harvest individual leaves or entire plants. Cut back in the fall.
