Info: Italian specialty with medium-sized, wine-red heads and white broad ribs that taste only slightly bitter. Delightfully fresh salad for the very early spring. The red leaves adorn every colorful salad plate.
Care: Sow shallowly in rows 25-30 cm apart from July to August. Sow directly at a final distance of 15 cm, as radicchio does not transplant well. The soil should be slightly sandy.
Tip: The green leaves die off in winter so that the red heads can form in the following spring. To accelerate, cover the plants with brushwood.
