Info: Brown-red, bolting-resistant leaf lettuce. Forms large loose heads with tender, deeply lobed, wavy leaves that resemble oak leaves. Easy, year-round cultivation in the open field. First harvest possible after 4 - 5 weeks. For fresh salads, prepared with herb, yogurt or mustard sauce.
Care: Sow 0.5 cm deep (diffuse light promotes germination) thinly distributed in rows 30 cm apart. Press the seed in, cover with soil and keep moist. Thin out to 25 cm if necessary. Likes sunny to partially shaded locations and all good, humus-rich garden soils. Keep evenly moist.
Tip: Temperatures above 18°C can inhibit germination. The outer leaves can be picked multiple times, sparing the heart, leaves grow back.
Sowing: From March indoors, April - August outdoors
Germination: 6 - 12 days at 10 - 16°C
Harvest: May - October, depending on sowing date
