Info: Tasty, very decorative leaf lettuce. Forms medium-sized, loose heads with highly curled, thick-fleshed, red-green leaves and mild flavor. Suitable for year-round cultivation in the open field and for foil cultivation. For fresh salads, also mixed with endive or Lollo Bionda.
Care: Sow 0.5 cm deep (diffuse light promotes germination), thinly distributed in rows 30 cm apart. Press seeds slightly, cover with soil and keep moist. Transplant or thin out with 25x30 cm spacing. Loves sunny to semi-shady locations and all good, humus-rich garden soils. Keep evenly moist.
Tip: Temperatures above 18°C can inhibit germination. Harvest whole heads or only the outer leaves, leaves grow back.
Sowing: From March indoors; April - August outdoors
Germination: 6 - 12 days at 10 - 16°C
Harvest: May - August; 6 - 8 weeks after sowing each time
