Info: Genetically monocarpic variety, meaning only one seedling per seed. No thinning required. Round, smooth beets with fine root attachment. Excellent internal quality without ring formation. Relatively bolt-resistant. Harvest from October is storable until March. Use cooked, as salad vegetables, for wet preservation, pickled in vinegar, or as juice.
Care: Sow 2 - 3 cm deep in rows 30 cm apart. Place seeds at a final distance of 10 cm, cover with soil, and keep moist. Loves sunny, also partially shaded locations and all loose, humus-rich garden soils. Water moderately but continuously.
Tip: Late sowing from May - June produces very tender beets. Harvest without injury, otherwise, they will bleed. Store cool, frost-free in sand or a clamp.
Sowing: April - June in the open field
Germination: 5 - 10 days at 15 - 22°C
Harvest: August - November
