Info: Annual. An interesting color combination of fiery golden yellow and reddish-brown colored petals, forming a lively, indistinct ring around the dark center. A variety of quality that also impressed the European and American Breeders Associations, awarding 'Ring of Fire' with the Fleuroselect quality and All American Selection Winner. Very good branching. Growth height about 110 cm.
Care: The preculture takes place in warm conditions (greenhouse/windowsill), sown 2 - 3 cm (dark germinator) deep in pots, about 2 - 3 seeds per pot. From mid-May (when there's no more frost), the plants can be moved outdoors, first acclimatizing them to the outdoor temperatures (hardening off). From mid-May, they can be sown directly outdoors, on-site. Keep temperatures and moisture constant. Use sowing soil! Plant spacing 50x50 cm.
Use: 'Ring of Fire' is a real eye-catcher as a cut and border plant. With a growth height of about 110 cm, this variety can be planted in large containers. Faded sunflowers are very decorative for dry arrangements.
Gardener's tip: Nutrient-rich, permeable soil and sufficient moisture promote good development. Additional fertilization is beneficial.
