Info: Annual. For the first time with "Boden's Pride," a breed has been successfully created that grows so quickly that the flowers appear in the year of cultivation. Additionally, it blooms until October and is thus a perpetual bloomer. The single flowers stand on strong, firm stems and are perfect for cutting. With "Boden's Pride," summer sowing with loss-prone overwintering can be avoided. Height: approx. 60 cm.
Care: Pre-cultivation is done in a warm place (greenhouse/windowsill), sow about 1 cm deep in trays/pots. Direct sowing in open ground can be done from mid-May. Keep temperatures and moisture consistent. Use sowing soil. Give the plants a sunny location and humous, nutrient-rich garden soil. Planting distance: approx. 30x30 cm.
Use: Carnations are very popular and epic for early summer in cottage gardens and perennial flower beds. They are great for cutting for bouquets and have a pleasant fragrance. Their nectar attracts numerous species of butterflies. This variety, like other perpetual bloomers, can be planted in borders or in front of hedges.
Gardener's tip: "Harvest" many flowers and cut off spent blooms immediately, then the plants will bloom continuously and bring flowers until October.
Sowing: Pre-cultivation: February - April; Open ground: Mid-May
