Info: This pepper immediately catches the eye with its unusual dark purple color. As it matures, the Mavras variety turns dark red. "Mavras" reliably produces blocky, thick-fleshed fruits as it is early-ripening and highly resistant to the tobacco mosaic virus (TMV) of races 0, 1, and 2. Growth height about 60 cm.
Care: Sow from February to April in warm rooms/greenhouses in pots or seed trays, about 0.5 - 1 cm deep and cover lightly with sieved soil. Keep consistently moist. Use sterile seed soil or containers! Pre-soaking the seeds (about 24 hours) in lukewarm water or chamomile tea promotes germination. Stretching clear plastic wrap over the seed containers helps maintain moisture; if condensation forms, partially remove the foil.
Usage: Ideal for cultivation in containers on balconies and terraces, as well as in open fields. The fruits are suitable for fresh consumption, preservation, stuffing, and roasting.
Gardener's Tip: Removing the first blossom/king blossom promotes the development of further blossoms and their fruits.
