Info: This cultivar was developed without genetic engineering to create a lettuce that is not affected by the green lettuce aphid (Nasonovia ribisnigri). Additionally, the variety is largely resistant to downy mildew of races 1 - 16, 19, 21, and 23 and lettuce mosaic virus. Due to the resistances, the use of pesticides can be reduced. The variety forms very heavy heads with a light green color and open head formation.
Care: Batavia lettuce thrives in any humus-rich garden soil in a sunny and partially shaded location. Sowing depth: 0.5 - 1 cm. Sow thinly in rows.
Usage: Especially suitable for salads.
Gardener's tip: Due to the long cultivation period and the bolting resistance of the variety, it can be harvested from spring to late fall.
Sowing: Open field: March - August
Germination: 6 - 12 days at 10 - 18°C
Location: Sunny - Partially shaded
Harvest: From May - early October
